Terms of use

About these terms

These terms govern your use of thesoftwareengine.com. They do not govern any work we do for you - that is covered by a separate written agreement signed by both parties, and where the two differ, that agreement takes precedence.

Using this site

You may read, print and share the content here for your own purposes, including quoting it with attribution. You may not republish it wholesale as your own, or use it to train a system that reproduces it as original work. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or the systems behind it.

The content is information, not advice

Everything published here, including articles about cost, technology choices and process, is general information written from our own experience. It is not professional advice for your specific circumstances, and your circumstances may differ in ways that change the answer. Decisions you make on the basis of it are yours.

We try hard to be accurate and we correct things when we get them wrong, but we do not warrant that everything here is complete, current or applicable to you.

Case studies and figures

Case studies describe work we have done. Where a metric is not yet verified we show a visible placeholder rather than an estimate - we would rather show a gap than a number we cannot stand behind. Nothing in a case study is a guarantee of a comparable result for your business.

Third-party names

Product and company names mentioned on this site are the trademarks of their owners. We mention them to describe technology and to make comparisons, not to imply endorsement or partnership in either direction.

Links out

We link to third-party sites where they are useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this website or reliance on its content. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
